ATLAS Pentium III Timings
From user mail, it seems that few people appreciate that there is a
fairly significant gap between stable and developer performance for
a variety of machines.
This graph compares the performance of ATLAS 3.5.6 and 3.4.1 using
double precision matrix multiply and LU factorization.
DGEMM and LU Factorization on 1 Processor of 1.0Ghz PIII (laptop)

This graph gives the same information for single precision real:
SGEMM and LU Factorization on 1 Processor of 1.0Ghz PIII (laptop)

Note that the 3.5.6 install used a CacheEdge setting of
249856. This machine (my laptop) has a 256K L2 cache.
I no longer have access to MKL to compare against. Last time I did was
here.
